New Business <br />e. Summer Reading Program Numbers: <br />i. 53 Babies started the program and 19 finished <br />ii. 730 (3 - 12 year olds) started the program and 203 finished <br />iii. 39 teens started the program 500+ coupons were returned <br />iv. Mick Stoffers noted that these numbers are typical of the Summer Reading <br />Program in previous years. <br />v. An anonymous donor donated $1,000.00 with the stipulation that it be used to <br />help get books in the hands of children. It was used to provide books as prizes <br />for the summer reading program. Those who received a book signed a card <br />for the donor. <br />f Friends of the Elk River Library is discussion the possibility of sponsoring another <br />children's reading program with Mick. Conversations are continuing. <br />g. Nick Zerwas provided an update on funds available From the Elk River Economic <br />Development Authority that was used for a branding study for Elk River. The Study <br />was provided by ChandlerThinks, aconsultancy Firm out of Nashville, TN. Elk <br />River's new branding slogan is "Powered by Nature." ChandlerThinks provided a <br />130 page report with recommendations for how to implement the branding process. <br />Most of the recommendations are in ways to use the City's existing marketing <br />budgets more effectively. Nick offered to have the City's implementation manager <br />for the branding process speak to the Library Board in a future meeting about ways <br />the Library could participate in the implementation of the new Brand. Mick took an <br />action to reach out to the City's branding implementation manager to see if he would <br />present to the Board in a future meeting. <br />6. ~ournment. <br />There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:04 p.m. Next regularly scheduled <br />meeting will be held on November 22, 201 1. <br />Nicole Novtny MOVED TO ADJOURN THE September 27, 2011, 2011 LIBRARY <br />BOARD MEETING.
