CAPITAL IMPROVEMEI 1'PROGRAM (CIP) YEAR - 2000 <br /> <br />PROJECT DESCRIPTION <br /> <br />COMPLETE 1999 PROJECTS:. <br />Highway 169 pedestrian bridge. <br /> <br />CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT SIDEWALKS <br />AND MISSISSIPPI RIVER PATH: <br />Construct a pathway along the Mississippi River in the <br />central business district between Jackson Avenue and <br />King Street. Replace the sidewalks in the central <br />business district. <br /> <br />VICTORIA LANE, KENT STREET, LANDER <br />STREET, AND 191ST AVENUE OVERLAY: <br />One and one-half inch overlay street improvement <br />project. <br /> <br />TYLER STREET: <br />Acquire the right of way for the construction of Tyler <br />Street from County_Road 12 to 17_J~t Avenue. This <br />project could include up to three houses and 25 acres of <br />land. <br /> <br />COST AND FINANCING <br /> <br />SEE 1999 CIP NARRATIVE <br /> <br />$100,000 for the sidewalk replacement to be financed by <br />the city with Capital Projects Reserves. $100,000 of the <br />pathway project to be financed with NSP-RDF <br />contributions. The $400,000 balance of the pathway <br />project will come from a voter approved public <br />referendum bond. If the referendum is not approved, <br />then the project will be done in phases using park <br />dedication and NSP/RDF funds. The Utilities <br />department also has expenses (approximately <br />$200,000) for relocation of electric lines. <br /> <br />$80,000 - The city will bond for this project in the <br />summer of 2000. Assessments to the 50 benefited <br />property owners will pay off this bond over a five year <br />repayment schedule. <br /> <br />$300,000 to $900,000 - This entire project is scheduled <br />to be financed with Municipal State Aid funds but <br />sections of the street may be constructed by developers. <br /> <br />Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Year - 2000 Page 1 <br /> <br /> <br />
