REQUEST FOR ACTION <br />TO ITEM NUMBER <br />Ma or and Ci Council 4.4. <br />AGENDA SECTION MEETING DATE PREPARED BY <br />Consent November '7, 2011 ustin Femrite, P.E. <br />ITEM DESCRIPTION REVIEWED B~/ <br />Survey Quote fox Upcoming Capital Improvement Projects Cal Portner, Ci Administrator <br /> REVIEWED BY <br />ACTION REQUESTED <br />Authorization to accept the quote received from Oliver Surveying & Engineering, Inc. in the amount of <br />$7,700.00 to complete topographic surveys for upcoming capital improvement projects as listed below. <br />BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION <br />In order to facilitate project development documents for upcoming projects listed in the Capital <br />Improvement Plan, we need to have topographic surveys completed this fall. The surveys will include <br />determining the existing right-of--way, easements, and physical features along the project corridors. These <br />surveys will allow for design work to begin on these projects over the coming months. <br />The projects included are as follows: <br />Business Center Drive Sidewalk -Listed in the Capital Improvement Plan for construction in 2012, <br />this project includes the construction on missing segments of sidewalk along Business. Center Drive <br />between Joplin Street and Orono Park. <br />Intersection Enhancements -Listed in the Capital Improvement Plan for construction in 2012, this <br />project includes adding a designated right hand turn lane for eastbound to southbound traffic at the <br />intersection of TH 169 and 193`d Avenue. <br />Eastern Area Trail and Mobility -This project is listed in the Capital Improvement Plan for <br />construction in 2014. The plan development timeframe for this project is expected to take two years due <br />to the project being funded with Federal Transportation Enhancement dollars. The topographic survey <br />will allow the ability to get started on the required process to meet the Federal process. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT <br />We have solicited two quotes for the completion of the topographic surveys on these projects.
