Discuss adding a resident from north of Highway 10 to serve <br />BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION <br />At the October 17, 2011, City Council meeting, the Council reopened the Downtown Redevelopment <br />Plan, and directed staff to contact task force members. Since then, staff contacted each of the origina113 <br />members. Of those, one is no longer in the area and another declined citing demands at work. Those <br />vacancies represent the business community and the EDA. <br />Task force composition. The Council may recall that the task force includes: <br />4 HRA members <br />3 business representatives (1 no longer with business) <br />2 residential representatives <br />1 each from Boards or Commissions of Parks, Planning, Heritage Preservation, and EDA <br />The Council will need to appoint a person representing the EDA and the business community. <br />During our conversations, a couple of people noted a desire fox additional resident representation, <br />particularly in the area north of Highway 10. <br />Staff recommends that at least two Councilmembers be part of the task force. One Councilmember <br />could serve as the representative for the EDA. The other non-Council EDA members are Ron <br />Touchette and Pat Dwyer. <br />Meetingschedules. Staff is preparing for standing meetings the fourth Monday of each month. This <br />should not conflict with standing board or commission meetings.
