MEI IORANDUM <br /> <br />Item# 6 <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />Mayor and City Council <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />Pat Klaers, City Administrator <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />September 8, 2003 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Pat Summerall Productions <br /> <br />Attached for your information is a fax which I received from Jean Lewis from Pat Summerall <br />Productions regarding an opportunity to be selected for a city management award. This <br />"opportunity" comes with a price tag. In my conversation with Ms. Lewis I understand that the cost <br />for the city is about 1/4 of the total cost of the production. This may be a very good opportunity to <br />advertise the city to businesses and industries. <br /> <br />Ms. Lewis indicated that she was going to speak to the Mayor and accordingly, Mayor Kfl_inzing may <br />have an update on this issue for the City Council. <br /> <br />In my conversation with Ms. Lewis, it was indicated that the city is one of the municipalities under <br />consideration in Minnesota and that, in effect, we are in competition with a few other communities <br />for being selected for this award. A questionnaire is planned to be sent to me in the near future to be <br />filled out for further evaluation of our community. (This assumes that we are still interested and are <br />willing to pay our share of the production costs.) As I understand this program, it is new and that <br />Minnesota is one of the first states selected for this program and that they (Pat Summerall <br />Productions) intend to go state by state throughout the country with this civic recognition program. <br /> <br />Everything about this opportunity sounds wonderful with the exception of the price tag.
