Beahen, Chief of Police, Bruce West, Fire Chief <br /> 9-4-03 <br /> <br /> Public Safety Building Open House <br /> <br />The police and fire departments will be hosting open houses at the downtown fire station <br />and the new fire and police building on September 20, 2003 from 1:00 pm until 4:30 pm. <br />The fire department will continue their celebration by hosting a street dance on Jackson <br />Avenue from 7:30pm until 11:30 pm featuring the Johnny Holm Band. <br />The downtown fire station will be having many public demonstrations including the <br />smoke house, extrication procedures, safe escape house, sprinkler trailer, fire extinguisher <br />demonstrations and a car bum. Children and families alike enjoy these public displays <br />and we encourage the council to stop by this station and see these displays time allowing. <br />At 1:00 pm we are asking that the Mayor and Council attend a ribbon cutting ceremony at <br />the front of the new public safety building. We would appreciate the Mayor or her <br />designated spokesperson saying a few words about the opening of this new facility. At <br />1:30 pm we will have a flag raising ceremony followed by the dedication of the Andy <br />Zachman memorials located on the SE comer of the police department. <br /> <br /> Our primary goal at the new police and fire facility is to allow the public in for tours so <br /> they may visit the new locations and view the completed facilities. We will have treats <br /> and keepsakes for those that visit. We will also have a few displays on hand but don't <br /> want to detract from the building itself as we are both very proud of this new facility. <br /> <br /> Please contact Chief West of Chief Beahen if you have any questions concerning the <br /> day's events. <br /> <br /> <br />
