REQUEST FOR ACTION <br />TO ITEM NUMBER <br />Ma or and Ci Council 4.6. <br />AGENDA SECTION MEETING DATE PREPARED BY <br />Consent October 3, 2011 Mark Thompson, Assistant Street <br /> Su erintendent <br />ITEM DESCRIPTION REVIEWED B~/ <br />Authorization to Proceed with Drainage Improvements at ustin Femrite, Ci En ~ eer <br />194`'' Lane and CR 1 REVIEWED BY <br /> Robert Thistle, Interim City ~~ <br /> Administrator <br />ACTION REQUESTED <br />Staff requests authorization to proceed with drainage improvement at 194`" Lane and County Road 1 <br />accepting the bid from Rum River Contracting for $ 11,650.00. <br />BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION <br />Staff has identified this road area in need of storm drainage. Currently the water does not have an outlet <br />to drain and pools until it evaporates. Without the addition of storm drainage, the water will continue to <br />deteriorate the road surface. <br />Staff has received three quotes and they are as follows: <br />Rum River Contracting $ 11,650.00 <br />Redstone Construction $ 13,877.50 <br />New Look Contracting, Inc. $ 12,350.00 <br />Rum River Contracting has provided the lowest bid for the improvements for a total of $11,650.00. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT <br />The improvements will be funded through the Street Improvement Reserve fund.
