REQUEST FOR ACTION <br />TO ITEM NUMBER <br />City Council 4.3. <br />AGENDA SECTION MEETING DATE PREPARED BY <br />Consent October 3, 2011 Jessica Miller, Executive <br /> Secreta /De u Ci Clerk <br />ITEM DESCRIPTION REVIEWED BY <br />Resolution Acknowledging Contributions to the Police and Fire Robert Thistle, Interim City <br />Departments Administrator <br /> REVIEWED BY <br />ACTION REQUESTED <br />Adopt attached resolution acknowledging the $4,000 monetary contribution from The Eddy Foundation <br />and the $100 monetary contribution from Mr. and Mrs. Aloysious Goblirsch pursuant to Minnesota State <br />Statute 465.03. Statute requires that resolutions axe adopted by a 2/3 majority vote. <br />BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION <br />Representatives from The Eddy Foundation were present at the September 19, 2011, City Council <br />meeting and presented $2,000 to the Elk Rivex Fire Department and $2,000 to the Elk River Police <br />Department. <br />The Police Department has also received a $100 donation from Mr. and Mrs. Aloysious Goblirsch. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT <br />The Eddy Foundation donated a total of $4,000 to the City of Elk River. The Fire Department will use <br />their $2,000 to purchase firefighting and rescue equipment. The Police Department will use their $2,000 <br />to cover the department's share of implementing Project Life Saver and to purchase department holsters. <br />The Police Department will use Mr. and Mrs. Aloysious Goblirsch's donation to purchase equipment. <br />ATTACHMENTS <br />^ Resolution acknowledging the monetary contributions <br />Action Motion by Second by Vote <br />Follow Up <br />N:\Public Bodies\City Council\Council RCA\Donarions\Eddy Resolution.doc <br />
