Appendix E: Relevant News Articles (cont.) <br />j~~./~1Vly <br />Posted: 6/4/04 <br />Andover Station North development plans taking shape <br />by Kelly Johnson <br />Staff writer <br />Development plans for Andover Station North are starting to take shape. <br />The Andover Economic Development Association (EDA) at its May 25 meeting approved a residential developer for the <br />project and authorized city staff members to market the commercial portion of the site. <br />Andover Station North is located just west of Hanson Boulevard and north of Bunker Lake Boulevard. <br />The EDA would like to see the property develop with both residential and commercial components, similar to the <br />development in Andover Station, on the south side of Bunker Lake Boulevard. <br />Although the EDA requested proposals for the commercial development, the EDA members decided to have city staff <br />members market the commercial property for the next year. <br />With construction underway on Target Greatland in Andover Station, the EDA and city staff members feel that will help <br />bring new commercial interest in Andover Station North. <br />"A year from now, things will happen that we've never thought of," said Will Neumeiser, community development director. <br />The EDA approved working with Bruggeman Properties, LLC on the residential development with a 4-0-1 vote. <br />Ken Orttel, who arrived just prior to the vote, abstained and resident EDA members Fred Larsen and Robert Nowak were <br />not at the meeting, <br />Members of the EDA heard proposals for the development of Andover Station North at their April 19 meeting. <br />The EDA received development proposals from United Properties, Meridian Land Company, Town and Country Homes, <br />Ryland Homes, Positive Development, Inc. and Bruggeman Properties LLC. <br />These proposals included plans for developing the residential and commercial components of the site. <br />The Bruggeman Properties LLC proposal calls for one- and two-level townhomes in the northwest corner of the property. <br />Members of the EDA and the developer will work together to finalize the plans for the residential development. <br />Kelly Johnson is at kelly.johnson@ecm-inc.com. <br />
