Item # 7_3. <br />MEMORANDUM <br />xiver <br />TO: Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: Mark Thompson, Assistant Street Superintendent <br />DATE: October 3, 201 <br />SUBJECT: Street Division Snow Plow Procedure Plan <br />The City of Elk River Street Department has revised its snowplowing procedure plan. Much <br />of the snowplowing operations fora "typical" snow event have not changed. We will still be <br />assisted by employees from five other departments (Waste Water Treatment, Building <br />Maintenance, Equipment Services, Building Safety and Park Maintenance) as we have done <br />so in the past fox a total of 18 employees fox a "typical" event. <br />However in the case of "extreme weather conditions", declared by the City Administrator in <br />conjunction with the Police Chief, Fire Chief, and Street Superintendent, we have revised the <br />plowing procedure to include an additional nine employees from the above referenced <br />departments to assist with snow removal operations during such an event.
