INITIATIVE
FOUNDATION
Should My Community Consider HCP?
UnlockinE the Power of Peoule
The Initiative Foundation's Healthy Communities Partnership (HCP) program
works with central Minnesota communities to engage local citizens in planning for
the future. Too often people feel disconnected and powerless to affect change in
their communities, even though many are willing to volunteer countless hours to
ensure the success of community projects that interest them.
HCP begins by providing one year of innovative training to local leadership teams
whose members must be dedicated to involving everyone in the process of building
a brighter future for their community. The Initiative Foundation provides an initial
$10,000 grant, technical support and facilitation, and atime-tested model within
which each community will create its own vision and integrated plan. The
planning process generates a number of goals and projects that will require local
volunteers and resources in order to be successful.
Selection to HCP is a competitive process-only eight communities are offered the
training each year. More than 100 Central Minnesota communities and six
counties have already benefited from the impact of your Initiative Foundation's
support and expertise!
If your community has never participated in HCP ... or if it has been a number of
years since it did ...you may wish to consider applying.
Want More Information?
For further information or to schedule a formal presentation for your neighbors and
friends, call the Initiative Foundation toll-free at (877) 632-9255 and ask for Dan
Frank, Manager for Community Development.
LOG I`n <..r 4r~ua r.r SI'.
Lrr~ir: F,~i.i.ti, nln 66346
I`un ni.. 3_O.tCtCf~_.~.1
~n~_ :11'U.l Y.f° vPFR
