Other Business <br />Commissioner Gumphrey requested to revisit item 5, specifically asking the EDA <br />reconsider allocating $2500 from the 2012 miscellaneous budget and donate it to the <br />Initiative Foundation. He feels they've done a lot for the city in the past. <br />Dwyer agreed with Councilmember Gumphrey. <br />Page 3 <br />Chair Touchette expressed concerns a~th upcoming expenses such as the branding and <br />marketing plan, and felt hesitant to donate this money until they knew for sure theywould <br />have sufficient money available. He did agree the Initiative Foundation is good at benefitting <br />communities thrive and grow. <br />Commissioner Motin stated that while he felt theywere a good foundation to support, that <br />we should carefullyconsider donating moneytowards them given the tight budget and the <br />fact that it would be an indirect benefit to economic development. <br />Commssioner Tveite agreed with Commissioner Motin but wanted to clarifythat this <br />contribution wouldn't increase the EDA budget but would come at the expense at <br />something else. <br />MOVED BY COMMISSIONER GUMPHREY AND SECONDED BY <br />COMMISSIONER DWYER TO APPROVE DONATING $2500 TO THE <br />INITIATIVE FUND WITH FUNDS BEING TAKEN FROM THE <br />MISCELLANEOUS BUDGET LINE ITEM. MOTION FAILED 3-3. <br />CHAIR TOUCHETTE AND COMMISSIONERS MOTIN AND TVEITE <br />VOTED AGAINST THE MOTION. <br />11.
