Special Marketin~Efforts <br />Special marketing efforts were focused on the following programs in August: <br />• Fall Pxogxam Guides have hit the • Fright Night Volunteer Forms <br />streets around town <br />• Preschool Programming • Fall Softball <br />• Last of the Concert Series • Flag Football class added <br />• Last of I{idstock • Open Gym <br />• Final Chalk It Up <br />Department Updates <br />Michael Hecker has been hired as the new Parks and Recreation Director. Michael has over <br />21 years of experience in municipal government and nonprofit organizations. Fox the past <br />eleven years, Michael has been the Parks and Recreation Director fox the City of Mason in <br />Ohio. Prior to the City of Mason, Michael was the Parks, Culture and Recreation Director <br />fox the City of Unalaska in Alaska for four and a half years and Executive Director fox the <br />Old Greenwich Riverside Community Centex fox seven years. Michael holds a degree in <br />Operations and Systems Analysis with a minor in Accounting/Economics and a master's <br />degree in Recreation Administration. <br />The Recreation Division is in the process of moving offices from Lions Paxk Center to City <br />Hall. Details axe cuxxentiy being worked on to assure the best possible customer service to <br />the community. The timeline on the office move is to have it completed by the end of <br />September or early October. Staff is also focusing on marketing efforts to educate the <br />public on the office relocation. <br />
