Rebecca Haug
City of Elk River
August 18, 2011
Page 5
requires diligent maintenance to sustain grasses and is not sustainable when planting trees. The ERL has
developed an alternative grading plan and access road proposal that eliminates the 2: l .slopes on the west
side of the facility and provides additional screening of the operation with trees planted closer to the
City trail for a more effective use for the screening vegetation.
Once again, we thank you for your dedication to providing an acceptable expansion to the Elk River
landfill facility. Although we believe we have addressed the remaining issues discussed at our meeting
on August 4, 2011, please let us know if there are any additional clarifications that you need from us.
Sincerely,
WENCK ASSOCIATES, INC.
~ ~~
` G%~~
Joanna C.
