Request by Elk River Landfill, Inc. for Conditional Use <br />Permit to expand the existing landfill into 31.8 acres of <br />property located immediately south of the existing <br />landfill, Public Hearin -Case No. CU 11-12 <br />ACTION REQUESTED <br />Planning Commission recommendation to the City Council on whether to approve a Land Use <br />Amendment and Rezoning of 33 acres to allow for expansion of the Elk River Landfill. The Planning <br />Commission should also make a recommendation to the City Council on whether to approve a CUP and <br />license to allow 27.2 additional acres of lined mixed solid waste (MSW) and 31.8 acre expansion for <br />landfill operations. <br />General Information <br />Applicant Elk River Landfill, Inc. <br />Location/ Address 22460 Highway 169 -x133-acre parcel located immediately to the south of the <br />existin landfill ro see ma <br />60 Day Rule The City must take action by October 27, 2011 <br />Introduction <br />Elk River Landfill, Inc. (Landfill) is requesting a Land Use Amendment, Zone Change and <br />Conditional Use Permit to expand the Landfill into 31.8 acres of property located immediately south <br />of the existing landfill property. This proposal would allow for the development of additional <br />landfill space on 8.9 acres on the southern-most portions of the existing landfill property and on <br />18.3 acres on the northern-most portion of property owned by Tiller Corporation ("Tiller <br />
