At this meeting, it was suggested <br />that the project seek state bonding approval, as a pan of the State of Minnesota's capital <br />improvement program. <br /> <br />The project has been "registered" with the Department of Finance and we are working <br />on completing the base information for submission to the Department of Finance as a part <br />of the 1998 through 2003 capital budget system. This is the process which was utilized <br />by the Minnesota Amateur Sports Commission for approval of their proposed statewide <br />athletic facilities. <br /> <br />In order to be eligible for state assistance, the application needs to be submitted by a <br />public agency. On behalf of the Minnesota Sports Federation, I would request <br />consideration by the Elk River City Council to sponsor an application for state funding. <br /> <br />APPLICATION AND PROCESS <br /> <br />The application is due at the Department of Finance by October 31. 1997.
