Box 490 Elk River, MN 5530-0490 RE: RESOLUTION FOR COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO WEST TH 10 FRONTAGE ROADS Dear Mr. Klaers: As we have done in the past, with the construction of the North Frontage Road at Joplin and a portion of Joplin south of TH 10, we are attempting to get Mn/DOT to participate in the westerly extension of Business Center Drive to serve the Sherburne County Government Center. To initiate this process attached is a draft resolution that needs to be adopted by the City Council. Once this is adopted we will submit it to Mn/DOT with a layout of the proposed improvements and look for a determination by Mn/DOT as to whether or not this road extension provides benefit to the Trunk Highway System. If they determine that thero is a benefit to the Trunk Highway System they will likely participate in the partial funding of the roadway. There is, however, no guarantee that they will participate in the funding or if they do choose to participate, that monies will be available in 1998. If in fact they do participate in the funding, and monies are not available in 1998, we will ask for a cooperative agreement that would reimburse the City for the portion of the project that Mn/DOT determines to be fundable, as soon as monies aro available in future years.
