Immediate Supervisor: <br />Parkand Recreation/Ice Arena Ice Arena Mana er <br />Pay Grade: FLSA Status: Last Updated: (date) <br />S Non-Exem t 8/2011 <br />Positions Supervised: <br />Oversees the work of art-time em to ees. <br />Position Summary <br />The Ice Arena Lead Worker maintains overall authority at the arena in the absence of the Arena <br />Manager, performs a variety of tasks in the operation of the arena and the surrounding grounds. <br />Essential Functions <br />1. Assists in day-to' day operations of the ice arena. <br />A. Maintains receipts of ticket sales, skate sharpening, and other sales to assure an <br />accurate accounting of cash received. <br />B. Assists in the supervision of other personnel to maintain arena effectiveness. <br />C. Carries out and enforces arena policies and practices. <br />D. Insures that safety and security measures axe enforced. <br />~. Keeps arena manager informed of important developments to ensure effective <br />management of the arena. <br />2. Provides maintenance functions. <br />A. Assists in maintaining ice sheets in optimum condition. <br />B. Assists in maintenance activities and follows preventive maintenance programs to <br />arena equipment and building. <br />C. Carries out janitorial duties of the arena and grounds to assure a safe and clean <br />facility. <br />D. Identifies defective areas of ice and/or repairs defective areas and reports these areas <br />to supervisor: <br />E. Monitors equipment, keeps accurate records, identifies and reports any problem to <br />the arena manager and/or supervisor. <br />F. Performs building (exterior and interior) and grounds maintenance as assigned. <br />G. Performs minor equipment repairs as needed. <br />3. Performs equipment operations. <br />A. Operates resurfacing equipment in a safe manner, keeping ice hours on schedule. <br />B. Assists in training part-time personnel in the operations of equipment. <br />C. Operates ice edger to maintain the correct thickness of ice. <br />Page 1 <br />
