The liquor license is not valid until approved by the Commissioner of Public Safety. <br />2. Event must be held in an area that is fenced in with secured and controlled access and be <br />compact and contiguous to the licensed establishment. <br />3. Neighboring property owners must be notified of the event. <br />4. Permission to use private property fox parking must be obtained prior to the event. <br />5. Tent(s) must be inspected by the fire marshal prior to the event. Applicant must contact Cliff <br />Anderson at 763.635.1110 to schedule an inspection. <br />6. Live music shall be located as far into property as possible to alleviate noise and egress issues. Not <br />near entrances. Applicable noise ordinances must be followed. <br />7. Adequate fire lane access must be maintained at all times on all sides of the building. Gate access <br />for emergency vehicles shall be provided at the west fence line. <br />8. Building occupancy levels shall not be exceeded. <br />BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION <br />The American Legion is requesting approval of a special event permit for their Second Annual Music <br />Block Party on Saturday, August 20, 2011. The event is scheduled from noon until 12:30 a.m; however, <br />the event will move inside at 10 p.m. The event will include live bands, a dunk tank, and multiple other <br />family activities. The American Legion would like to serve alcohol to members and guests outside their <br />establishment. State law allows for these types of events as long as the area is compact and contiguous to <br />the licensed establishment. The area must be fenced and have secure and controlled access. The city has <br />received the required certificate of liability insurance.
