Estby, Laura
From:
Sent:
To:
Subject:
One more to add to packet
Czech, Rich
Friday, July 22, 2011 921 AM
Estby, Laura
FW: Liaison Officer
From: Randy A Anderson fmailto:randy.andersoma-~elkriver kl2 mn usl
Sent: Thursday, July 21, 2011 5:40 PM
To: Czech, Rich
Subject: RE: Liaison Officer
Hi Rich:
I believe that the School Board will support the increase in the prime ice time from $170 to $180 but would be opposed
to including an additional $12 security fee. As it was explained to me as I was initially asking questions about the
differences, the additional $12 is charged to provide necessary security at Roger's games -said rationale is that since
the District supplies 3 police liaison officers to Elk River and only 1 to Rogers, these added dollars are necessary to
provide the "additional" security service at the hockey games.
Remember that I inherited these contracts. As we talked about at our meeting, I don't believe that the Board will
support changes to the Elk River contract that simply "mirror" the Roger's contract just because Roger's has it in their
contract -then the District would have 2 contracts that would be considered outside of standard norms.
The Board strongly supports collaboration, transparency and equity across the District and I too adhere to that belief -
however, sometimes equity does not mean the same thing as equal. I hope that you can appreciate my challenge as I
continue to work through contracts that have politics incorporated within contract language.
Thanks for sending me the survey results, it will help me with my research and will give the Board information about
comparative contracts. I look forward to working with you.
Regards, Randy
Randy Anderson
Executive Director of Business Services
Lrdepewdent Sehool District #728
815 Higlrwny 10
Elk River, MN 55330
763/241-3403 (O/fice)
612/221-8653 (Cell)
763/2A1-3407 (Fax)
randy.anderson(a)elkriver.kl2.mn.us
__
From: Czech, Rich ~mailto:RCzechCalci.elk-river mn usl
Sent: Wednesday, July 20, 2011 9:14 AM
To: Randy A Anderson
Subject: Liaison Officer
