Economic Development Authority Minutes Page 4 September 8, 2003 COMMISSIONER DWYER SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 6-0. 8. Consider New Business Incubator Tenant -Lap2 Technology Corporation Ms. Hall provided background on the Advisory Committee's review of two prospective tenants, Intellipatch and Lap2 Technology. She stated that Intellipatch is not interested until financing has been secured. Ms. Hall introduced Mr. Rob Henningsgard of Lap2 Technology Corporation, prospective Business Incubator tenant. Ms. Hall noted that Mr. Henningsgard is mterested in occupying the 1,041 square foot Suite 130 space. She reported that the Incubator Advisory Committee reviewed Lap2's application and is recommending to the EDA admittance in the Incubator. Mr. Henningsgard provided the Commission with information regarding his product that combines cell phone, computer, and Internet connection capabilities. COMMISSIONER KLINZING MOVED TO ENTER INTO AONE-YEAR INCUBATOR LEASE AGREEMENT WITH ROB HENNINGSGARD OF LAP2 TECHNOLOGY CORPORATION, BEGINNING SEPTEMBER 15, 2003. COMMISSIONER MOTIN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 6-0. 9. Other Business City Administrator Pat Klaers noted that beginning October 20, 2003, the City Council, Economic Development Authority and Housing and Redevelopment Authority would be meeting at the Elk River Senior High School Little Theater. City Administrator Pat Klaers discussed a proposal from Pat Summerall Productions for participation in a "Best Managed Cities in America" recognition award. He stated that both he and Commissioner Klinzing spoke with a representative of the company and that they agreed to present the offer to the EDA and Ciry Council for comment. Commissioner Dwyer stated that the Bank of Elk River was approached by the same compatry two years ago, and after further investigation, they found that the offer was misrepresented and not worth the investment. It was the consensus of the Commission to recommend that the City not participate. 10. Adjournment There being no other business, CHAIR GONGOLL ADJOURNED THE MEETING. The meeting of the Elk River Economic Development Authority adjourned at 6:46 p.m.
