Economic Development Authority Minutes Page 2 <br />May 14, 2001 <br />5. Strategic Industrial Marketing Plan - Updat <br />5.1. Customer Service/Siting & Expansion Process <br />Anita Duckox, of Duckox & Associates gave an overview of the Customer Service & <br />Siting/Expansion Process. She noted that the process began in December of 2000. Ms. <br />Dukor explained purpose of the project which was to provide a seamless siting process to <br />meet the industrial client's need for resources, information and business incentives that <br />helps the client site and/or grow in the city of Elk Riven Anita noted that [he project is now <br />complete and thanked all involved. <br />(Commissioner Tveite arrived at this time (6:06 p.m.) <br />Commissioner Dwyer indicated his concern that the process is continually reviewed and that <br />all departments continue to follow the process. The City Administrator explained that a <br />review of each proposal upon completion is built into the process. <br />Cormissioner Klinzing indicated that she would like to see the action xequued by the <br />governing body more clearly defined. She also indicated that she wants to be sure that the <br />public is clearly involved in the process. Commissioner Klittzing requested the opportunity <br />to review the final copy of the plan and to highlight areas where she sees that the public <br />could be more informed. <br />Anita Dukor thanked the EDA for the opportunity to work with the City. <br />5.2. New Marketin,~ Materials <br />Catherine Mehelich introduced the new EDA marketing brochure. <br />5.3. Economic Development Department Web~age <br />Marc Nevinski displayed the Economic Development Web page that he has designed. He <br />noted tha[ it would be incorporated into the city's web site. <br />(Commissioner Kues[er left at 6:50 p.m.) <br />6. Consider ModiFcation to Roma Tool Amortization <br />Mazk Nevinski explained that Roma Tool & Plastics is requesting a suspension of payments <br />on their State loan for the period of February 2001 to September 2001 due to a limited <br />supply of working capital. Mazc explained that the City is administering the loan fox the <br />State. He noted that the loan originated in 1986 and the city has recovered its portion of the <br />loan. <br />Commissioner Dwyer indicated that the EDA has an obligation to the taxpayers and felt <br />that the loan should be not be forgiven. Commissioner Tveite concc[ured. <br />COMMISSIONER TVEITE MOVED TO REQUIRE A PARTIAL PAYMENT OF <br />$1,000 PER MONTH UNTIL SEPTEMBER 1, 2001, WHILE MAINTAINING A <br />REPAYMENT SCHEDULE. COMMISSIONER MOTIN SECONDED THE <br />MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 6-0. <br />
