By getting the bid out early we will save in the pricing and
the timeline for receiving a new resurfacer will be reduced.

6.Lobby Expansion for the Arena / Naming Rights for the Arena
Arena Manager, Rich Czech discussed a rendering of the proposed 1.9 million
dollar lobby expansion with the additional cost of $300,000.00 for high school
boys and girls locker rooms.

Park and Recreation Director, Bill Maertz, stated that the project size is close to
10,000 square feet and the project may be put off until 2010. He also stated that
by possibly selling naming rights to the Arena or by referendum, the project may
be put in the fore front sooner.

Commissioner Paige would like the option of a leased retail store within the new
lobby expansion to be explored further.

MOVED BY VICE CHAIR JOHNSON AND SECONDED BY
COMMISSIONER BARTH TO APPROVE THE PURSUIT OF THE ARENA
NAMING RIGHTS FURTHER. THE MOTION CARRIED 6-0.

7.Skate Club Representative to Arena Commission
Brad Hansen has been selected by the Elk River Skate Club as their Arena
Commission Representative.
