The Commission will be continually updated on <br />the hiring process. <br />The City of Otsego has approached the City of Elk River to discuss their recreational <br />program's offerings. They wish to explore the concept of working with the Ciry of Elk River <br />in delivering recreational programs to Otsego residents. Staff met with the Otsego Parks <br />and Recreation Commission to discuss what recreational programming they feel would <br />positively serve their community. Now that summer programs have for the most part <br />started, Staff will be able to begin developing a proposal that would benefit both Elk River <br />and Ots@eo residents. <br />The Parrs and Recreation Department has received questions from the public regarding if <br />the state] level government shutdown will have an impact on Elk River City Parks. We want <br />to relay ghat the shutdown will not affect public access to Elk River City Parks. This <br />shutdowin only affects the State park system. One way, however, that the shutdown is <br />affectin the Elk River Pazks and Recreation Department relates to grants that have been <br />applied~'or through the DNR. There may be a delay in the decision of two grants that have <br />been applied for, one for Hillside Ciry Park and one for the Youth Athletic Complex. <br />
