Rolfe, Chief of Police <br />Item Description Reviewed by <br />Adopt a Resolution Acknowledging Contributions to the City of Bob Thistle, Interim City <br />Elk River Administrator <br /> Reviewed by <br />Action Requested <br />Council motion adopting a resolution acknowledging a donation of $1000 to the police <br />department by Great River Energy for use by the bike team to upgrade equipment. <br />Background/Discussion <br />Great River Energy is a long standing and valuable business in the City of Elk River. Great River <br />Energy has made a donation in the amount of $1000 to the City earmarked for use by the police <br />department bike team to upgrade equipment. <br />The police department has utilized police mountain bike teams for over a decade to patrol remote <br />areas of the city, work special events, and work directed enforcement details in which the <br />characteristics of the mountain bike make them an extremely effective tool. The police <br />department will use the donation to purchase two new mountain bikes.
