REQUEST FOR ACTION <br />TO ITEM NUMBER <br />Ci Council 5.1. <br />AGENDA SECTION MEETING DATE PREPARED BY <br />Administration ul 5, 2011 Rodne Schreifels, Parks Su ervisor <br />ITEM DESCRIPTION REVIEWED By <br />Award of Contract for Hail Dama e Reroof Pro~ect Tim Simon, Finance Director <br />ACTION REQUESTED <br />City Council is asked to approve the award of the hail damage reroof project to Timber Top Roofing. <br />BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION <br />Earlier this year, the League of Minnesota Cities adjuster Mike Coulter reviewed a number of City <br />buildings and shelters. His analysis indicated a number of shelters and buildings had hail damage and were <br />in need of repair. With the assistance of the insurance adjuster, specifications were developed and an <br />advertisement for bid was prepared. <br />On June 4, 2011 the reroof project was advertised, a mandatory bid meeting was held on June 15, 2011, <br />and the bid opening was on June 24, 2011. Three bids were received to reroof buildings and shelters at <br />Lions Park, Rivers Edge, Orono Park, Pinewood Golf Course, and the Youth Athletic Complex (YAC). <br />The bids results were as follows: <br />Chuba $104,225 <br />Falcon Exteriors $93,336 <br />Timber Top Roofing $76,978 <br />In addition, a number of park signs were also damaged and will need to be repainted.
