MEMORANDUM TO: Ice Arena Commission, Members FROM: Rich Czech, Arena Manager DATE: June 21, .2011 SUBJECT: Agenda Memo -June 27, 2011 Z • Arena Renovation At the last meeting in May the Commission decided to postpone its joint meeting with the City Council until the Commission had a better feel for what the user groups were willing to commit financially to the renovation project. Since then Commissioners and staff have met with School District Officials, Youth Hockey Representatives, both Girl's and Boy's Blue Line Members, and have had discussions with the Figure Skating Club President. At this time the youth associations have brought the matter to their board to determine if they are able to participate finically in the project and if so to what extent. The School Board Officials indicated an interest in participating finically in the project but could not commit to any amount until they know what the state legislation is going to decide on funding for education. The next work session for the City Council is July 11th. At this time the Arena Commission is on the agenda to give an update of where the project is at and how the Commission would like to proceed with the project.
