• MINUTES OF THE ELK RIVER PLANNING COMMISSION <br />HELD AT THE ELK RIVER PUBLIC LIBRARY <br />JULY 28, 1992 <br />Members Present: Chairman Nadeau, Commissioners Tveite, Minton, Eberley, <br />and Johnson <br />Members Absent: Commissioner Spotts and VanValkenburg <br />Staff Present: Stephen Rohlf, Building and Zoning Administrator; <br />Janelle Szklarski, Zoning Assistant; Sharon Maue, <br />Building & Zoning Secretary; and Peter Beck, City <br />Attorney <br />1. Pursuant to due call and notice thereof; the meeting of the Elk River <br />Planning Commission was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman Nadeau. <br />2. Consider 7/28/92 Planning Commission_Agenda <br />Stephen Rohlf, Building and Zoning Administrator added the following <br />items to the agenda: Item 11.1 "Planning Commission Budget" and Item <br />11.2 "History Tour." <br />COMMISSIONER MINTON MOVED TO APPROVE THE 7/28/92 PLANNING COMMISSION <br />AGENDA AS AMENDED. COMMISSIONER TVEITE SECONDED THE MOTION. THE <br />MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br />3. Consider 6/23/92 Planning Commission Minutes <br />The following amendments were made to the minutes: Page 6, add to <br />motion "based on the findings of fact for a conditional use permit." <br />Page 15, delete wording "Commissioner Minton and Commissioner Tveite <br />agreed to do some additional research and bring data back for a <br />workshop discussion item." <br />COMMISSIONER TVEITE MOVED TO APPROVE THE 6/23/92 PLANNING COMMISSION <br />MINUTES AS AMENDED. COMMISSIONER MINTON SECONDED THE MOTION. THE <br />MOTION CARRIED 3-0-2. Commissioner Johnson and Chairman Nadeau <br />abstained from the vote as they were not present at the 6/23192 meeting. <br />4. Planning Commission Representative to Attend 8/17/92 City Council <br />Meeting <br />It was indicated that Chairman Nadeau would attend the 8/17/92 City <br />Council meeting. <br />5. Consider a Zone Change Request (R-lb to PUD) by ~r7apit Park/P.H. <br />Steve Rohlf, Building and Zoning Administrator, stated that Wapiti Park <br />has revised their original request to include rezoning to a PUD <br />• (Planned Unit Development} with an underling land use of HB/Highway <br />Business. They had originally requested a C-3/Highway Commercial <br />zoning. Staff is recommending denial of the request because the <br />request is not consistent with the goals of the Comprehensive Plan. <br />
