We use hlspectron to provide building inspection services and an independent contractor, <br />Peter Tolde, to do electrical inspections. Both finlls were selected after sending out numerous requests for <br />proposals and interviewing 3-S private contractors. We also considered contracting with other cities, and found <br />that these contractors offered the best solution. Our aistorners, inspections staff, management, and elected <br />officials have been very happy with the service provided by Inspectron. Overall, the results we have achieved <br />provide a tremendous value to the taxpayer <br />attached is information put together by our Finance Department detailing our personnel costs as a per cent of <br />building permit revenue In 2009, services were provided by full time City staff and in 2010'the City contracted <br />with Inspectron and Mr. Tokle. This Information gives an indication of the type of fixed costs the City was <br />carrying, but keep in rrilnd that these employees performed other City functions, such as property code <br />compliance, so all of their expense was not building permit related.
