Fire <br />Chief Bruce West indicated that the city would not charge for these types of <br />incidents. <br /> <br />COUNClLMEMBER FARBER MOVED TO ADOPT ORDINANCE 97-17 AMENDING <br />CHAPTER IV OF THE CITY CODE "PENAL REGULATIONS" BY REPEALING SECTION <br />402.04 "FALSE ALARMS" AND ENACTING A NEW SECTION 402.04 IN LIEU THEREOF <br />RELATING TO THE SAME SUBJECT ENTITLED "FALSE ALARMS." COUNCILMEMBER <br />HOLMGREN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />Open Mike <br /> <br />No one appeared for this issue. <br /> <br />Staff Updates <br /> <br />There were no staff updates. <br /> <br />Council Worksession <br /> <br />Councilmember Dietz left the meeting at this time due to illness. <br /> <br />Worksession Items <br /> <br />Update on the Trott Brook Residential Development Proposal on the Waddy <br />Schulze Property- Postponed <br /> <br />{Old Item #9.1.) Councilmember Farber Discussion on Traffic Issues on Hiqhland <br />Road <br /> <br />Councilmember Farber expressed concerns from his neighborhood regarding <br />traffic issues which include the high rate of speed of the vehicles, the increased <br />volume of vehicles on Highland Road, the possible need for stop signs or speed <br />bumps (or dips), the need for sidewalks for children walking to School along with <br />crosswalks and signage. The City Council concurred that this area has additional <br />traffic and that the volume will increase in the future. The Council requested the <br />Police Department to give this area some special attention for traffic <br />enforcement. <br /> <br />The City Council requested the City Engineer to do traffic counts on Auburn Street <br />at 193rd and 197th Avenues and on Dodge Street at 193,d and Elk Hills Drive. <br /> <br />Discussion with Police Department Reqardin.q Or.qanizat ona Structure in the <br />Department <br /> <br />Chief Zerwas indicated that earlier in the year the city received approval for the <br />addition of two more COPS FAST officers. The city is currently in the process of <br />testing new applicants for these positions. It is the hope of the department that <br />these two positions can be filled this calendar year. <br /> <br /> <br />
