Michele Bergh
Elk River Community Recreation
Dear Michele;
Recently I toured the MSF site near the water tower on the west end of Elk River. The
site is not level enough for soccer play at this time but has great potential for field development
with little cost.. By leveling the site, reseeding and adding irrigation and parking sites this area
could develop two to three full size soccer fields. TRSA would consider participating in this
development in some manner.
I would also like to discuss with the city the development of a six to eight field soccer
complex with a field house in the center where indoor soccer could be played in the colder
months. The revenues generated from such a facility could be used to pay off any costs or
bonding associated with the project. TRSA would be willing to participate financially in such a
project. We would also set up league play along with clinics and camps to develop funds to pay
for the facility. Currently the NSC charges $75 to $100 an hour for field use in its facility which
has two small sided fields. Such a facility could also be rented to the school district for late
season football practice and early season baseball practice. It could be used by the city for
community events. We are noticing a large increase in winter indoor activities other than
basketball, but currently there is not enough indoor space for these programs.
I would be happy to discuss this further with you or the city Park and Recreation board.
Thanks,
Michael Roden, President
Three Rivers Soccer Association
