Box 1480 <br />Maple Grove, MN 55311-6480 <br /> <br />(612) 425-4191 <br /> <br />Names and addresses of all adjacent land owners within 350 feet of site <br />See attached Exhibit 1. <br /> <br />Purpose of Proposed Extraction: <br /> <br />The purpose of the proposed extraction is to remove an existing <br />deposit of sand and gravel and process it into construction aggregate <br />and hot mix asphalt. The site will serve the growing needs of Elk <br />River and the surrounding area. <br /> <br />5.) <br /> <br />6.) <br /> <br />Estimated Time Required to Complete the proposed Extraction: <br /> <br />The site will be operated in phases. It is estimated that it will take 20- <br />25 years to complete mining over the entire site to the grades shown <br />on the accompanying plans. The duration of mining activities is <br />approximate only and is dependent upon market demand. <br /> <br />Transportation Routes: <br /> <br />The site is accessed off of 221 st Ave., which is a gravel road. Tiller <br />Corporation proposes to pave 221st from U.S. 169 to the site's <br />entrance and exit roads. Essentially all truck traffic from the site will <br />be east on 221st Ave. approximately 1,000 feet to U.S. Highway 169. <br />The site is expected to handle an average of 100 trucks per day. <br /> <br />Dependent on receiving approval from MnDOT, an acceleration lane <br />heading north and south on 169 are proposed to be constructed during <br />the initial phase of operation. Turn lanes are currently in place from <br />169 to 221'"t Ave. <br /> <br /> <br />
