The City has an excellent fleet <br />maintenance program and our mechanics do costly maintenance <br />procedures to keep our vehicles in top shape. <br />10% Life Increase <br />Squad cars 36 months to 40 months <br />Pick ups 10 years to 11 years <br />Dump Trucks 15 years to 17 years <br />20% Life Increase <br />Squad cars 36 months to 44 months <br />Pick ups 10 years to 12 years <br />Dump Trucks 15 years to 18 years <br />2) Keep squad cars in city fleet as B & E cars, Administration <br />vehicles, investigator's .cars or police reserve cars. Sell squads <br />short and fully equipped to other small cities. <br />3) Conserve fuel citywide with a "no idling policy." <br />4) Put building inspectors in 40 mph compact cars or small <br />pickups. <br />
