Special Marketin~Efforts <br />Special marketing efforts were focused on the following programs in March: <br />• Summer Program Guide • Farmer's Market <br />Delivered • Adult Softball <br />• Business Expo • Keepsake Egg Tray <br />• Social Media • Pinewood Golf Course Marketing <br />• Fallen Oak Duathlon Plan and Facebook Page <br />Department Updates <br />Staff have completed and submitted an Outdoor Recreation Grant through the Deparanent <br />of Natural Resources Division of Parks and Trails. If awarded this grant will secure funds to <br />aid in the installation of lights on the four upper fields at the Youth Athletic Complex. <br />Notification on this grant award is expected in late summer. <br />The City has entered into an agreement to purchase parking lots in historic downtown. The <br />lots include space behind Daddyo's as well as a section of the lower lot next to Rivers Edge <br />Commons Park. The purchase of these lots will greatly support the Riverfront Concert <br />Series as well as provide opportunities for other events. <br />Staff have completed and submitted several grant applications in an effort to secure funding <br />to aid in the purchasing on the Bailey Point property. The City is working in conjunction <br />with the Minnesota Land Trust as well as applying for State funds through the Department <br />of Natural Resources. Notification on these grant awards is expected in late summer. <br />Interviews for the Parks and Recreation Director position have begun. 115 applications <br />were received for the position opening. The Commission will be continually updated <br />throughout the hiring process. <br />7, <br />
