Most of the necessary maintenance identified in last month's maintenance check
has been performed. Remaining items will be addressed in the neaz future, as
resources are available.
The fireplace was emitting a "hot" odor, possibly from overuse by a library patron
who repeatedly reignited it. Mick asked Gary Lore from the City Maintenance
Department to evaluate it. He has not yet identified any problems, and asked that
if the problem recurs, that he be called immediately so he can witness the
problem. Mick indicated that there have been no issues since the original
incident.
5.3. By-Laws
Mick Stoffers distributed the updated by-laws, which were amended in the
November 23`d, 2010 Librazy Board meeting to change from monthly to semi-
monthlymeetings.
5.4. Shelvine purchase
Used shelving was purchased from the St. Michael Library for $100.00. The
shelving purchase was in the budget, but the used shelving was considerably less
expensive, resulting in a positive variance to the budget For this purchase.
5.5. LED LiQktting Test
Mick spoke with Troy Adams Elk River Utilities and he said the library is a
project their looking at for a test site for LED lighting, but it will not be in 2011.
5.6. Library Board Meeting Attendance
Mick reiterated that, since the Library Board membership continues to be small, it
is important that she be notified if anyone knows that s/he will not be able to
attend during any particular month. This is especially critical since the Board is
now only meeting semi-monthly, to ensure that a quorum is present to hold the
meeting. If anyone cannot attend the meeting, it is required that Mick be notified
a minimum of 4 days in advance of the meeting time.
Adiournment.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:05 p.m. Next meeting will be
held on March 22, 2011.
JAYNE DIETZ MOVED TO ADJOURN THE JANUARY 25, 2010 LIBRARY BOARD
MEETING. AARON ZIEGLER SECONDED. MOTION PASSED 3-0.
Respectfully submitted,
