Staff concurs with the recommendation to award the cabinet job to <br />Zroka Cabinet and Fixtures Company in the amount of $7,106, and the <br />countertops job to Fritz Countertops, Inc., in the amount of $5,840. A <br />number of local firms identified in the Chamber directory, including Jerry <br />McChesney and Berg Custom Cabinets, were invited to bid on the work but <br />declined. The counter and cabinet work is above the budget estimate, but the <br />total furniture, fixture, and equipment budget is still in very good shape. <br /> <br />Security System <br /> <br />The security system quote was removed from last week's agenda as input was <br />requested from Municipal Utilities. The apparent low bidder for the liquor <br />store security system is Wellington Security Systems in the amount of <br />$14,161. The Utilities reviewed this information and submitted their <br />attached cost estimates of $13,867.23. This amount needs to be qualified by <br />noting that the included labor expenses would be "at least" $4,000, and also <br />that the General Manager indicated a 5-10 percent mark up of the materials <br />is typical and this quote from the Utilities does not include any mark up on <br />the prices of parts. If a 5 percent mark up was added, then the Utilities <br />quote would be in the $14,360 range. Staff is comfortable with its previous <br />recommendation to award the contract to Wellington Security Systems in the <br />amount of $14,161. <br /> <br />13065 Orono Parkway · P.O.
