Tare Plant Inventory and Management Plan
Baraboo, Wl
Locating Rare P/ant Species
He/ps Ensure Protection
The Badger Army Ammunition Plant, along with an
advisory body, wanted to develop comprehensive
natural resource management strategies for its
7,354-acre facility. Their objective was to protect,
manage and restore rare plan[ species within the
concept of ecosystem-based management.
The Army chose Bonestroo to search for rare plant
species initially found in 1993. Limited information was
available on plant location, number of individual plants,
and the plant populations" general condition.
Bonestroo"s experienced botanists successfully located
the rare plant species discovered earlier, and created a
management plan to help ensure their protection.
The munitions production facility is slated to be closed.
A significant portion of the site will be managed as a
wildlife refuge in the future, and the management plan
will play an important role in this process.
// ~/ Bonestroo
~Y®1 Rosene
Anderlik S
Associates
Engineers 6 Archi[ees
