Utilizing my communication and administrative skills will allow me to be effective in <br />the role as a team member with specific responsibilities. <br />Education/ProfessionaI Experience: Describe your educational and professional experience or <br />skills that qualify you to serve on this board/comrnission. <br />My degrees are in the areas of business, administration, cumculum design and education, <br />including a doctorate in educational policy and administration; specialist certification in <br />curriculum design & industrial relation; masters' in education and counseling; and a bachelors' in <br />accounting, economics and sociology. <br />I am a retired teacher, principal, and district administrator with 30-~ years experience in all levels <br />of education, including 13 years as classxooxzl teacher (general and special needs); 6 years as a <br />school site principal; 10 years as district level administrator and mediator, coach and. mentor. <br />Tn addition, r have 5+ years as a business owner, coach, mentor and educational consultant. <br />Relevant Pex•sonall.Pro:fessional Expe~-ienee: Please describe your professional, civic, or <br />community participation, which may be relevant in serving on this board/commission. <br />My responsibilities as a district administrator for Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS) were broad <br />and involved multiple constituencies and stakeholders at the local, district and state level. <br />Y have experience managing operations of educational environments and providing oversight to <br />ensure consistency and adherence to legal requirements. For example,l re-engineered and <br />sustained day to day operations for MPS Homebound Instructional Services Department based <br />on parameters with Minnesota Department of Education Cozxective Action Plan and legal <br />statues.
