Bids were received and publicly opened. The bid documents were prepared with input from City staff, liquor operations manager and refrigeration vendors. Bid alternate #1 is for certain electrical work related to the cooler. Bid alternate//2 was original drafted to include the product racking material and installation. Specific bidding information was not available for product racking. A separate budget arnount is establish. Award of the product racking is not being considered at this time. Bid alternates #3, #4 and #5 were prepared to entertain possible energy savings options. Thc information available at this time does not warrant accepting any of the alternates. The Owner may consider adding the items in the future or wait for improvements in cooler energy saving devices. Bid alternate//6 was prepared to consider a five (5) year cooler panel warranty. The base bid scope of work requires a ten (10) year panel warranty. Bid results · The budget for walk-in cooler work is $75,000 · The bids results for bid package #17 are attached. The Iow responsible bidder is St. Cloud Refrigeration, with a bid of $51,$00. This bid mount includes the alternate #1 electrical work. · The revise~l bid from St. Cloud Refrigeration provides a savings to the City of ($23,300) Recommended .~lction It is recommended that the City Council approve a motion to award the walk-in cooler (bid package # 17) contract to St. Cloud Refrigeration of St. Cloud, Minnesota.
