The Park and Recreation Director reports to the City Administrator and is responsible for providing effective leadership in planning, development, and implementation of a comprehensive park and recreation program. With an operating budget of nearly $3,000,000 opportunities abound for the Park and Recreation Director to lead this already exceptional park and recreation system. The Community Elk River is located just 35 miles northwest of Minneapolis-St. Paul between the Twin Cities and St. Cloud on the Mississippi River. It is the county seat of Sherburne County. The City covers an area of 44 square miles which makes it one of the largest land based cities in the state.
