Reasons to consider <br />implementing Sustainable Design elements: <br />• Productivity increases <br />• Operating costs decrease <br />• Natural resources are conserved <br />• Public Relations <br />• WHAT IS LEED CERTIFICATION? <br />The Leadership in Energyand Environmental Design (LEED) program,developed <br />by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC), outlines standards and <br />awards certification to sustainable buildings. Buildings are awarded a plaque <br />for successfully achieving one of four levels of ~ED certification. <br />WHAT IS ENERGY STAR? <br />ENERGY STAR, a joint program between the U.S. Environmental Protection <br />Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy, identifies a building's energy <br />efficient design. The program recognizes design intent and building <br />performance, based on the goal of being in the top 25% of comparable energy <br />efficient buildings. <br />WHAT YOU CAN DO <br />HTG Architects is pleased to be an ENERGY STAR Partner and to have LEED <br />Accredited Professionals on staff.
