there are also many domestic wells in the area. Domestic well usage is typically low - in the range of <br />about 300 gallons per day. However, many domestic wells in the area can have an effect on <br />groundwater use and availability. <br />The Minnesota DNR requires an appropriations permit Ibr groundwater and surface-water <br />withdrawals that exceed 10,000 gallons over a 30 day period or l million gallons per year. Monthly <br />pumping volumes for these appropriations must be submitted annually to the DNR.
