(dolomitic limestone) make up the major aquifer system in the Twin Cities. The St. Peter Sandstone <br />overlies the Prairie du Chien Group in some locations and in a few location (such as in Minneapolis). <br />the Platteville Formation is the uppermost bedrock. <br />2.2 Geologic Conditions in the Eik River Area <br />Elk River is located near the western edge of the Hollandale Embayment. Many of [he bedrock emits <br />chat are present beneath Minneapolis and St. Paul are not present undernctth F,Ik River neither they <br />were never deposited or were long ago eroded away).
