PROJECT AND DESCRIPTION <br /> <br />HIGHLAND AVENUE WATER LINE: <br />Construction of a trunk water line from Proctor Avenue <br />to Jackson Avenue. <br /> <br />171sT AVENUE AND ULYSSES STREET PROJECT: <br />This street construction project started in 1996 and will <br />be completed in 1997. The project called for the <br />reconstruction of 171st to a 10 ton standard from <br />Highway 10 to the railroad crossing and also the <br />completion of Ulysses Street from 171st to the north into <br />the Rail 10 Industrial Park. <br /> <br />ELK RIVER/ORONO LAKE RIVERBANK <br />PROTECTION PROJECT: <br />Construction of Lake Orono rip rap to protect the <br />lake/riverbank near the cemetery. <br /> <br />MISSISSIPPI RIVERBANK PROTECTION <br />PROJECT: <br />Construction of rip rap along the Mississippi riverbank <br />just west of the central business district. <br /> <br />WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT TRUCK: <br />A sewer sludge tractor and tank. <br /> <br />COST AND FINANCING <br /> <br />$346,400 - This project will be bonded for by the city and <br />the Municipal Utilities will pay off this bond with water <br />connection fees and general water department revenues. <br /> <br />The balance of the city participation into this project is <br />$34,000 from its capital projects reserve and $65,000 <br />from MSA funds. The majority of this project was <br />financed with city MSA funds which were advanced in <br />1996 from the 1997-98 allocations. <br /> <br />$16,000 - The city's share of $8,000 will be funded <br />through the capital projects reserve. The $8,000 balance <br />will be funded through a Sherburne County Soils and <br />Water Conservation Grant. <br /> <br />$50,000 - The city's share of $25,000 will be funded <br />through the capital projects reserve. The $25,000 balance <br />will be funded through a Sherburne County Soils and <br />Water Conservation Grant. <br /> <br />$100,000 - Wastewater Treatment Plant Reserves will <br />fund this expenditure. <br /> <br />Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Year - 1997 Page 8 <br /> <br /> <br />
