West May 16, 1997 SUBJECT: Purchase of Portable Monitor Deck Guns In the 1997 Equipment Reserve Section of the City of Elk River budget is the allotment for the Fire Department to purchase two portable monitor deck guns to be placed on the Fire Department pumpers. The Fire Department portable monitors are an important equipment item in reference to maximizing the points attained for a pumper truck in reference to the ISO survey points for a Fire Department's pumper truck. I have requested bids from three Fire Department equipment suppliers for the purchase of an Elkhart Portable Monitor No. 8297-25 with mounting bracket. The following bids were received: Metro Fire Equipment Clarey's Safety Equipment Danko Emergency Equipment Co. $1,900.00 $2 ,O96.25 $1,950.00 At this time I would like to accept the bid of Metro Fire Equipment Co. for the purchasing of two Elkhart Portable Monitors for a total of $3,800.00. At this time I would also hke to advise the City Administrator, Mayor, and City Council, that Celebrity Bowl Charities has approached the Elk River Fire Department in reference to equipment items the Fire Department may need that could be purchased with charitable gambhng donations. I have been advised by George Larson, from Elk River Bowl, that Celebrity Bowl Charities will be submitting a check to the City of Elk River for the purchase of one Portable Monitor for the Elk River Fire Department. With the purchase at this time of the two Portable Monitors from the equipment reserve fund, when a check is submitted to the City of Elk River from Celebrity Bowl Charities for the purchase of one portable monitor the money will be put back into the equipment reserve fund for future use. 13065 Orono Parkway · P.O.
