Graham asked if the building had been constructed
to allow for adding a second floor. Stoffers said it had not. Oleksowicz said that 2-story
library buildings require more staffing than 1-story buildings and that GRRL can not support
such a staffing requirement. Graham stated that in the future, if an expanded library is
deemed necessary, it should be investigated whether the public would be better served by a
second building in another part of the city, since the city's geographic boundaries are
spacious.
Oleksowicz reported that GRRL's new system of retrieving overdue or unreturned items
via a collection agency has been extremely successful so far. He also reported the GRRL's
director will be assuming a new position with MNLINK (catalog linking college libraries).
Motion to adjourn made by Anderson, seconded by Hangaard. Approved unanimously.
Meeting adjourned at 7:25pm.
Respec fully submitted,
~G%~/
Geraldine Graham, Secretary
