This planting will enhance the existing stand of native grasses <br />and wildflowers that now flourish in the park. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER DAVE ANDERSON MOVED THE PARK & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE EXPENDITURE OF $700 TO FINANCE A PRAIRIE <br />RESTORATION PROJECT AT THE WOODLAND TRAILS PARK, TO BE COMPLETED BY ELK <br />RIVER SENIOR HIGH BIOLOGY STUDENTS. COMMISSIONER CLAIR OLSON SECONDED <br />THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> <br />The Park and Recreation also recommended funds to help the skateboarders <br />establish a non-profit corporation. This arrangement seems to be the best <br />avenue to limit the city's liability exposure from a future skateboard park. <br />The motion is as follows: <br /> <br />COMMISSIONER DAVE ANDERSON MOVED THE PARK & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />RECOMMEND APPROVAL OF THE EXPENDITURE OF $320 TO FINANCE FINANCE <br />FILING FEES FOR 501 C3 NON-PROFIT STATUS FOR THE SKATEBOARDING ADVOCATES. <br />COMMISSIONER WESTRUM SECONDED THE MOTION.
