Entrance Mats. 6x12 mats cost 450.00 each. We would need two. The 3x5 mat
for behind the desk would be $60.00. The cost to rent the matt with cleaning
included is $23.35 plus tax per month to roughly $300.00 per year. Discussion
was had on other city users of G and K Services, cost and durability of each
option.
A motion to establish aone-year contract with G and K Services to provide and
clean three mats was made by Ms. Graham, seconded by Ms. Bailey. This motion
passed unanimously.
Clock repair. The clock repair company on Highway 101 has determined that the
clock hands are too big for the little plastic motor. Th: motor costs about $90.00
and the repairman said it would have to be replaced in about one year. (However,
the clock previously ran for at least three years before needing repair). There was
some discussion regazding purchasing of lighter clock hands so the motor needn't
work as hard. This was considered a viable option as long as the hands maintain
the aesthetic qualities of the clock. The board also questioned purchasing a
stronger motor that could move the current hands of the clock.
Another clock in the library will soon be getting repaired. At that time, Ms
Stoffers will ask that company for a second opinion regarding the hands and
motor on the big clock.
• Cabinets for PAC's- this project is temporazily on hold as the shelving project is
finalized to assure that there is sufficient money for both projects.
Other
The budget runs from January to January. A meeting is usually held in June to start to
prepare for next years' foreseeable expenses. Please let Ms. Stoffers know if you can
foresee any work in or azound the library that will need to be budgeted for. Ms. Bailey
expressed a concern about the front lawn; Ms. Stoffers will contact public works
department. The roof has been checked, the parking lot is fine and flowers will be planted
soon. The entryway flooring will be a definite project in next years' budget as will the
PAC cabinets if we can't get them this year. Discussion on possible flooring for the
entryway was had. Ms. Stoffers will check with the cleaning people regarding any
concerns about the bathroom plumbing.
Next meeting is June 25, 2002 at 6:30 PM
Meeting adjourned at 7:10 PM
Respectfully submitted,
Jeri Miller, Secretary
