This blower will be attached to our John Deere
5200 tractor and used to blow the leaves, sticks, and sand from our
hiking/biking trails.

In 1996, we borrowed a similar unit from the Elk River Country Club and
used it to clear the trails in Woodland Trails Park. We were very impressed
with the performance. The amount of time required to clean the trails was
about half that of a rotary broom, and there were no piles or windrows left
along the edges. Operational costs will be less also because the blower has
fewer moving parts and does not require a replacement broom core.

It is my recommendation that the City Council authorize purchase of a
AgriMetal Model BW-360 from Midwest Specialty Sales for the cost of
$2,992.65. Below are the three other quotes we received.

Long Lake Tractor
Wahls Enterprise
Northstar Turf

$3,100.00
$3,692.75
$3,509.18

13065 Orono Parkway · P.O.
