<br />The purpose and need of the project, alternatives considered, and anticipated social, economic, and
<br />environmental impacts of the Highway 169 Project are documented in an Environmental
<br />AssessmenUEnvironmental Assessment Worksheet (EA/EAW). The EA/EAW is a joint Federal/State
<br />document prepared to fulfill environmental review requirements. At the federal level, the EAlEAW is Highway 1s9
<br />used to provide sufficient environmental documentation to determine the need for an Environmental ~VER'JIEW
<br />Impact Statement (EIS) or that a Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) is appropriate. At the state
<br />
<br />the EA/EAW is used to provide sufficient environmental documentation to determine the need
